Polo Ponies

Boo- Grey mare

Boo is an Argentine TB mare that came to us from a NJ auction house. She is part of our sanctuary herd. She spends her winters playing arena polo with Beth. A regal and opinionated mare who had spent her life playing polo before being dumped at auction. We had always wondered about her breeding and sent hair off to Texas A&M for testing. We came to learn Boo is a TB, Andalusian and Quarter Horse cross. Not your average polo pony!

Molly- A little firecracker of a mare that is about as opinionated as she is quick. Molly came to us after not working out at a local polo club. She is very much a one person horse and we have given her sanctuary here at SES. Molly plays indoor polo over the winter and spends her summer grazing beside her best friend Boo.

Bacci- Sadly we lost Bacci this past Winter after a long battle with an eye condition. He was a very special member of the SES family and is greatly missed.

Bacci is an Argentine polo gelding that played two seasons with the sanctuary string. He came to us as an owner surrender when he became too old to play for the pro outdoors. We have had an ongoing battle with uveitis and it lead to his retirement in 2014. Though sound and keen to keep playing he can no longer see well enough for it to be safe.

G-Man (Bepa)- Bepa arrived to the sanctuary in July 2015 from Louisiana. He has quickly become a farm favorite and everyone wants to snuggle with him. He is a lovely large bodied polo bred gelding that stands 16h tall.

Frosted Flakes (Fiona)- Fiona arrived in August 2015 after playing outdoor polo since leaving the racetrack as a young horse. She is a little mare standing under 15h with a sweet kind face. She is incredibly well trained and is a bit like a fine Italian sports car under tack. Looking forward to getting to know this little lady.

53- chestnut mare with white blaze and socks. ADOPTED!

"53" is a relative newcomer just starting out with Beth. She arrived at the end of the outdoor season this past summer and is settling in very well. She seems to love the quiet life here at SES and quickly learned all about horse cookies and carrots. Spoiled already!

Teddy- A athletic little grey gelding that originated as a White Birch bred horse. Sold through SES for professional polo player looking to rehome him.

Boo excels at arena polo, normally playing 5 months of the year before a long Summer vacation. She is one of the keenest polo horses I have ever sat on and takes her job very seriously.
